So Henderson Appointed Vice-captain, Gerrard Give Greetings
Liverpool – Liverpool manager, Brendan Rodgers, Jordan Henderson finally officially appointed as vice-captain of the team. The decision was greeted with joy by Steven Gerrard.
Henderson is one of the important factors of Liverpool’s impressive performance last season. Not only slick in helping the attack, 24-year-old midfielder was also quite good in cutting the opponent’s attack.
Last season, Henderson appeared 35 times in the Premier League and contributed 4 goals and 7 assists. This season, he has played twice and contributed 2 assists.
Gerrard calls, Henderson deserves because the positions as vice-captain has been working hard on the pitch.
“Our new vice captain. He has worked very hard to earn this honor. Well done, mate,” Gerrard wrote in his Instagram account along with a picture of himself and Henderson when celebrating a goal.
Henderson is the second vice-captain Liverpool in the last two seasons. Previously, the position assumed by Daniel Agger.
Agger is now no longer in the club. The Danish defender has returned to his home country to join Brondby.
